APACHE CORPORATION – HOUSTON, TEXAS (2008- 2017)

• Responsible for all corporate level procurement activities including Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Market Intelligence, Materials Management, Transactional Excellence, Metric, Procurement Systems integration. Peak supply chain spend exceeded $13 Billion in 2014.

Strategy Consultant, Procurement Transformation, Major Integrated Metals Manufacturer

• Led an effort to establish Commodity Councils for a major integrated (from mining to retail) metals manufacture. Developed the methodology, organization structure, processes, roles and responsibilities, policies and training material for the company to manage the $7 Billion in spend through a Commodity Council approach.

• Strategy Consultant, Procurement Transformation Major Oilfield Service Company

Led a team of 80 client and 12 IBM staff in a Procurement Transformation engagement. Work entailed Process Redesign, Strategic Sourcing on 12 spend categories, organization design, Technology and change management. The client expected the transformation to drive over $800 Million in savings over 5 years. The client achieved year one run rate savings of $105 Million.

• Strategy Consultant, Strategic Sourcing Major Integrated Oil Company

Led a team of 6 (client and IBM staff) in a Strategic Sourcing strategy study for Upstream Well Maintenance categories (chemicals, rigs, pumps, rods) for a major integrated oil company's operations. TCO on the category was over $60 Million globally and the estimated annual savings from implementing the strategy was estimated to be $15-18 Million. Directed the efforts of other PwC sourcing team leads (Compression, Drilling Evaluation, West Africa Logistics) to ensure consistency and quality of the PwC offering to the client.

• Strategy Consultant, Strategic Sourcing, Major Integrated Oil Company

Led a team of 10 (client and PwC) staff in a Strategic Sourcing strategy study for Fast Moving Consumer Goods for a major integrated oil company's international C-Store operations. Spend on the category was over $260 Million globally and the estimated annual savings from implementing the strategy was estimated to be $3-$5 Million. Directed the efforts of other IBM sourcing team leads (Service Station Equipment, Geological and Geophysical, Gas Turbines) to ensure consistency and quality of the PwC offering to the client.

Led the business requirements effort on a team developing the concepts, governance, operating philosophy and business case for a member based e-commerce portal and data exchange.


MOBIL OIL CORPORATION – DALLAS, TEXAS (1985-2000)
Regional Procurement Manager - New E&P Venture (1997- 2000)
• Responsible for all Procurement and Logistics activities for the New E&P Ventures areas. Tasked with developing start-up operations in remote frontier locations. Estimated annual spend of $1.3 Billion per year.
• Led a staff of 18-25 (depending on activity) employees and contractors that performed all of the purchasing, contract negotiations, logistics and warehousing of material for operations in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Peru, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, Brazil, Russia and other start-up locations.
Commodity Group Manager (1996- 1997)
• Responsible for the Strategic Sourcing efforts on all commodities in the Upstream Materials and Services Commodity Grouping (Family). Estimated annual spend of $1.2 Billion per year.
• Responsible for achieving documented Total System Cost savings for the commodity group of $125 Million per year.
• Developed a MBA style, world class, five and a half day sourcing leadership training course used across the organization.
Reengineering Team Lead (1995)
• Led a reengineering team that redesigned the company’s line buying and accounts payable system, which resulted in a $3.6 Million per year savings.
• Developed and implemented a comprehensive e-commerce strategy for purchasing and payables which resulted in the elimination of 80% of paper transactions by utilizing EDI, P-Card and other tools.
Quality Systems Manager (1992 - 1994)
• Led a reengineering team that redesigned the company’s tubular quality system, resulting in $15-$20 Million per year in savings.
• Responsible for the QA & QC assurance of purchased products for the E&P Division, supervising a staff of nine employees and 30 contractors.

• Managed the purchase of steel pipe (OCTG and line pipe), a $200 Million per year commodity, a department of nine people, and an annual budget of $1.1 Million.
